Enacted by the Danish Parliament on May 24, 2022, the new Danish Bookkeeping Act represents a significant move toward the digitalization of bookkeeping practices in Denmark. According to the Act's timeline, companies in accounting classes B, C, and D, using their own unregistered bookkeeping system with the Danish Business Authority, must adhere to the requirements for digital bookkeeping systems starting from the financial year beginning on or after July 1, 2024.

The next crucial deadline falls on January 1, 2026, when the new requirements for digital bookkeeping systems will apply to accounting class A companies with a revenue exceeding DKK 300,000.
